About Olivia

I was born in the south of Germany and began my training through a traditional jewellery apprenticeship before moving to England in 1995.

Before becoming self-employed in 1999, I completed both a Silversmithing HND and a Jewellery Design BA in England. Since then, I have built an established workshop practice in Rochester, Kent, creating contemporary handmade jewellery in silver and gold alongside bespoke commissions.

My work brings together traditional craftsmanship, thoughtful design and a deep respect for materials and making. Alongside small collections and one-off pieces, I work closely with clients to redesign inherited or sentimental jewellery, transforming unworn pieces into something personal, contemporary and made to last.

Many of my bespoke commissions begin with jewellery that carries history or emotional value. Clients often bring inherited gold, old stones or pieces that are no longer worn, and together we create something completely new while preserving the story behind the original materials.

Everything is designed and made by hand from my Rochester studio, where commissions are developed from initial ideas through to finished pieces at the bench. I also open the studio during selected workshops, events and Medway Open Studios, offering visitors the chance to experience the workshop environment and learn more about the making process behind the jewellery.

Over the years I have exhibited at jewellery fairs and pop up shops across the UK and have received awards for both design and craftsmanship.
